Positive Health Care Workers Network: Tea Room Webinar II

What can unions do to protect, advise and advocate for HIV-positive healthcare workers?
Join the Positive Health Care Workers Network for its second Tea Room webinar, featuring guest speaker Tara Nipe.
Tara is a registered nurse with more than 25 years of clinical experience. She currently works as a Professional Officer at the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) – Australia’s largest union. In this role, she supports nurses and midwives who have been reported to:
- the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- the Health Complaints Commission
- the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
- the Commission for Children and Young People
Tara also draws on her experience as a Member Assistance Officer and from her time at ANMF’s Federal Office, where she represented the union on national committees and submitted position papers to government and regulatory bodies.
In this webinar, Tara will:
- give an overview of key healthcare bodies, unions and professional associations
- explain rights, obligations and protections for workers
- invite discussion on how unions can best support HIV-positive healthcare workers
Following her presentation, there will be a confidential, peer-led discussion facilitated by other HIV-positive healthcare workers.
