Melbourne NAIDOC Week March

LPV is joining the Melbourne NAIDOC Week March 2026.

What is NAIDOC Week?

NAIDOC stands for National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee. The week traces its roots to the Aboriginal rights movement of the 1930s and remains a cornerstone of cultural recognition today.
NAIDOC Week promotes:

  • Cultural education and celebration
  • Truth and reconciliation
  • Community pride
  • National unity

This year’s theme, 50 Years of Deadly, is a tribute to the people who built the movement. The Elders, organisers, artists and community who made space, turned resistance into expression and keep turning up year after year.
