LPV welcomes James Seow into the role of Health Promotion Officer.  James’ role will focus on older people living with HIV and coordinating the Taking Charge program.

In welcoming James to the team, LPV CEO, Richard Keane says,

“James has been engaged with LPV and other community-based organisations over several years and has already made a significant contribution.  We are thrilled to have his energy and enthusiasm in continuing to expand crucial partnerships, provide spaces for community to connect, and address the issues impacting the quality of life for people over 50 living with HIV.”

James will continue to work closely with the team at Positive Living Centre at Thorne Harbour Health to coordinate Taking Charge activities to support and connect ageing communities.  James will also be building partnerships and advocating within the aged care system to improve the experiences of people with HIV in aged care settings.

Upon starting his role this month, James says:

“I am proud and delighted to join LPV, an organisation dedicated to improving the quality of life in people living with HIV. I am excited to be collaborating with stakeholders in the health, government and social services sectors, as well as community leaders and members, to support ageing communities living with HIV. I look forward to contributing my experience in positive psychology, wellbeing science, community leadership and social innovation to empower intersectional ageing populations with psychosocial resources to live a flourishing life.

Human connection is a powerful force. I would love to hear your experiences, ideas and feedback related to HIV and positive ageing! Please share your thoughts with me or contact me for a chat at jseow@lpv.org.au.”
