Are you from a multicultural background and living with HIV in Victoria? Would you like to play a part in improving our services and cultural safety for multicultural people living with HIV?
Living Positive Victoria (LPV) is seeking members for our new Multicultural Advisory Group to help shape and support the implementation of LPV’s Multicultural Engagement Strategy 2025–2028.
This is an opportunity to ensure the voices, experiences, and needs of multicultural people living with HIV are heard and reflected in LPV’s work. By joining the Advisory Group, you can help shape services, strengthen community engagement, and contribute to creating a more culturally safe and inclusive organisation.
The Multicultural Advisory Group will support the implementation of LPV’s Multicultural Engagement Strategy 2025–2028. The group will provide lived-experience insight and cultural guidance to help ensure that LPV’s programs, services, and systems are equitable, culturally safe, and responsive to multicultural communities.
What WILL the Advisory Group do?
Members will:
- Provide lived-experience insight to support the implementation of LPV’s Multicultural Engagement Strategy
- Contribute to the design, review, and improvement of LPV programs and services
- Contribute to creating a culturally safe and anti-racist organisation
- Centre multicultural voices
- Contribute to the review of organisational policies and codes of conduct
What WON’T the Advisory Group do?
The Advisory Group is not responsible for:
- Managing programs, budgets, or operational activities
- Providing clinical, legal, or professional advice
- Replacing LPV’s internal decision-making processes
- Publicly representing LPV
- Acting as spokespeople on behalf of LPV unless specifically agreed and supported
Who can apply?
Applicants must:
- Have lived experience of HIV
- Identify as being from a multicultural community or background
- Be a member, client, or part of the Living Positive Victoria community and have engaged with LPV services
- Be able to commit to:
- One meeting every two months (approximately 1.5–2 hours)
- Up to 5 hours of preparation between meetings
