Strategic Plan 2023-28: Pillar 3 – Connect
Building on our strengths as an organisation, we have developed a framework of 3 pillars to guide our decisions over the coming five years.
What this means for our community…
- LPV will deliver Phoenix workshops for cisgender & transgender gay and bisexual men, and cisgender & trans women to support people to manage their HIV diagnosis along with ongoing monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement.
- LPV will pilot a new workshop on HIV and the law, travel and migration.
- LPV will offer regular programs directed to young adults (<30years) through the Gen Next program to provide peer support and social connection, as well as offering pathways for skills development in peer leadership, community development and public speaking.
- LPV will deliver a program of activities supporting older people with HIV, including: Taking Charge Positive Self-Management Programs for people over 40; bi-monthly Taking Charge events comprising health promotion and social activities for people with HIV over 50 and build relationships with key ageing service providers to enhance their capacity to meet the needs of older PLHIV and continue to develop and manage the Well Beyond 50 web portal.
- LPV will deliver arts and culture focused community-building events for cisgender and transgender gay and bisexual men with HIV aged 30-50.
- LPV will deliver Share Your Status Workshops for women and heterosexual men, Gay men and MSM and Bi+ people addressing stigma, dating and relationships.
- LPV will deliver Positive Reflections workshops exploring participants’ individual and collective journeys as people living with HIV.
- LPV will continue to lead the Heterosexual Men’s Advocacy Network Australia (HetMAN) national advocacy group and provide group peer support opportunities to address social isolation and the particular support needs of heterosexually-identifying men.
- LPV will represent on national and state advisory group, working group and committee representations which enhance our capacity to CONNECT with all PLHIV.
- LPV will identify opportunities to promote and extend the reach of the Positive Speakers Bureau and review the program model to support sustained participation.
- LPV will continue to coordinate Victoria’s World AIDS Day event and lead Victoria’s International AIDS Candlelight Memorial event.
- LPV will coordinate Victoria’s annual International Long-term Survivor’s Day gathering.
- LPV will continue to host four Planet Positive social events in a range of locations for PLHIV and their friends and families.
- LPV will maintain a presence at community, and cultural events in cooperation with our partners.
- LPV will continue to publish regular editions of Poslink and Poslink Express newsletters.
- LPV will continue to position the LPV website as the go-to resource for LPV members and people with HIV in Victoria and continually update, expand and review website content.
- LPV will continue to produce, maintain and regularly review education and health promotion resources.
- LPV will enhance our communications capacity by securing necessary equipment and resources to develop a suite of new digital assets to support strategic goals.
