Javier
Javier was born in Peru and has been living in Australia since 2019. Shortly after arriving, he was diagnosed with HIV, an experience that would shape his connection to community and advocacy. In his early twenties, Javier was deeply involved in marine conservation, working alongside marine biologists to translate scientific knowledge into visual and educational materials. His focus was on making this information accessible to underrepresented communities. After settling in Melbourne, Javier found strong support within the HIV community. This led him to join the Positive Speakers Bureau, an experience that has played a significant role in his personal and professional growth. He is passionate about representation, particularly for multicultural communities, and is committed to fostering inclusive spaces through community engagement and storytelling.
