LPV launches Poslink+ to deliver the same trusted source of information with even more ways to connect.
Over the past couple of months, you may have noticed that things are looking a bit different in our monthly and quarterly publications. Poslink has now become, Poslink+.
This change of name is part of LPV’s wider aim of connecting our community to more resources and information in a way that keeps us up to date in the fast-changing world of digital content.
Since 1998, Poslink has been a trusted source of information for the HIV/AIDS response in Victoria. As LPV Health Promotion Lead, Timothy Krulic, writes in the 100th edition of Poslink,
“our contributors have led conversations on HIV and gender inequity, PrEP, U=U, discrimination in criminal, migration and public health law, drugs and consumption, sex work, and the racism, sexism and queer phobia that intersect with stigma.”
Poslink has stood as an invaluable resource for our community for 25 years, and we continue to document and preserve each edition through our digital archive.
Winter 2020 saw the last printed edition of Poslink. With the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic and extended lockdowns across Victoria, LPV adapted to the changing landscape of digital media and hybrid working arrangements, and with it, the opportunity to offer our community a new way to engage with Poslink. A streamlined, digital version of Poslink was created, which provided a more dynamic way to tell stories, deliver information and feature artists.
Now, in 2023, as LPV enters its 35th year, we have expanded our digital offering to engage the community even further, in line with our 2023-28 Strategic Plan.
The Poslink brand will now more broadly be known as Poslink+ Media. It will encompass all of our digital offerings into four easy-to-navigate channels:
- Poslink+ Quarterly: our flagship, seasonal publication that you already know and love.
- Poslink+ Express: our continuing, monthly e-news, where you can stay up to date with events, news, surveys, partner organisations and more.
- Poslink+ Watch: our rebranded YouTube channel, where you can watch all of our videos, and;
- Poslink+ Listen: A brand-new podcast, where we will delve into stories by and about people living with HIV.
Senior Communications Officer, Brenton Geyer, who has been directing community engagement and communications at LPV for ten years says,
“an investment of resources in the creation of our new Poslink+ Media umbrella means that we are able to connect our diverse communities to engaging and meaningful multi-media content more than ever before. In addition to our existing monthly and quarterly newsletters, our renewed focus on video and audio content will provide our members and followers the option to connect or reconnect with other PLHIV voices and LPV services, through a choice of media channels and platforms.”
Part of that investment in resources has been engaging a Digital Content Creator, Tom Herbert, who will be helping to deliver current and new assets through these channels.
