Escape the city for a few hours, soak in the beautiful greenery, and connect with fellow positive Latinx community members. It’s the perfect way to start your weekend with good vibes and great company!
Holi!!👋🏼
🚶🏻We are excited to invite you all to join us for a morning hike at the beautiful 1000 Steps in the Dandenong Ranges. We’ll be meeting at Flinders Street Station on Saturday at 10 AM and heading off together to explore this lush, green escape just outside the city. Our plan is to return around 2 PM, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the hike and each other’s company.
⛰ If you haven’t been there before, the 1000 Steps, also known as the Kokoda Track Memorial Walk, is a short but steep hike that winds through the dense forest of the Dandenong Ranges. It’s perfect if you want a quick adventure and a chance to get out of the city for the morning. It only takes about an hour to get up and down, but trust me, it’s worth every step. Plus, getting there early helps beat the crowds!
🚞 We’ll be taking public transport, so please bring your Myki card with enough money for two trips (one to the Dandenongs and one back to the city). If you don’t have a Myki card or need assistance with transportation, please let us know so we can work something out.
☀️ Don’t forget to bring water, a hat, and sunscreen to keep yourself comfortable and protected during the hike. The Aussie sun can be intense, even in the cool shade of the forest!
🌎 This hike is for our Positive Latinx social group, and spots are limited, so if you’re keen to join, make sure to register ahead of time. And if something comes up and you can’t make it, just let us know so we can pass your spot to someone else.
📱If you’ve got any questions or need more info, feel free to reach out to Carlos Araya, at caraya@lpv.org.au. We are really looking forward to spending a great day with all of you, getting some fresh air, and enjoying the beauty of the Dandenong Ranges.
🥹 Hope to see you there!
