SUMMARY:Let Them Know: An HIV Disclosure Workshop (October)
DESCRIPTION:“I need to tell you something…”\n“I’d like you to know that I’m…”\nSound familiar? \nAre you preparing to have this conversation again? For the first time? Perhaps with a friend\, sex partner or family member? Sharing status (also known as “disclosure”) can be done well! We need to take into account our own style\, needs and preferences when it comes to this important conversation. \nIn this three-hour workshop we will: \n\nLearn from each other when it comes to sharing status in different ways in different settings\nExplore the benefits of sharing and not sharing\, and the issues that may arise\nConsider settings where it may be necessary to share your status\, according to the law\nMeet people who have successfully shared their status with their friends\, family\, loved ones as well as romantic or sexual partners.\nThis workshop is open to anyone living with HIV. This workshop will be facilitated by our Peer Navigation Team and volunteers.\n\nWe will also be joined by community members who have been successful at sharing their HIV status with their family\, lovers and friends. \nAs part of your registration\, our workshop coordinator\, Emil will be in touch with you to check in if you need any additional support. If you do have any questions or would like to talk to Emil now\, please feel free to send Emil an email at emil@lpv.org.au \nWe’re looking forward to having you join us.

SUMMARY:Positive Latin Americans Victoria: End-of-year Picnic
DESCRIPTION:Food and conversation have always been at the heart of PLAV gatherings. Over the past year\, we’ve shared meals\, stories\, and laughter — creating spaces where Latin Americans living with HIV can feel connected and supported. To close the year\, we’re continuing that tradition outdoors with a relaxed picnic at Fitzroy Gardens. It’s a chance to slow down\, enjoy the sun\, and celebrate everything we’ve built together. \nThis picnic will be on the same day as Planet Positive at The Laird\, so if you’re attending that\, we can walk together to the gardens for one last event in the fresh air. Whether you’ve joined us before or this will be your first time\, this is a gentle\, friendly space. Come as you are\, bring what makes you comfortable\, and settle into an easy afternoon of conversation and connection. \nWe’d love to know you’re coming so we can hold the right number of seats and make everyone comfortable — please take a moment to register when you can. \nIf anything would make attending easier\, Carles is here for you. Feel free to reach out and they’ll do their best to support you in whatever way you need to 0493 058 529 or caraya@lpv.org.au.
